Montezuma Real Estate

Montezuma has become a very popular place for foreigners to buy real estate. Almost everyone who visits can imagine living here because of its great natural beauty and the tranquilo lifestyle. While many other areas of Costa Rica tend to get older retirees moving there, Montezuma tends to have younger couples in their thirties, forties, and fifties, people who want to either retire while they're still young, or are planning on opening various businesses. There are also others who telecommute. With the low cost of living in Costa Rica, it's much easier to pay the bills. Many are buying properties in the area, hoping to one day move to Montezuma, or to build a vacation home. Most people who research the area come to the conclusion that real estate in Costa Rica is a great long term investment, so regardless of one's future plans, buying a property in Montezuma will be a good thing.

Montezuma Eco Village Pura Vida Sunsets - Finally, great affordable lots in the Montezuma area! Priced from $25,000 - $50,000, many of these lots have beautiful mountain views, and include access to a community salt-water pool, organic orchards and gardens, power, water, etc. Many have already been sold before the subdivision was even completed, so act quickly to reserve lot if this is the type of property you're looking for. Also, click the photo on the right if you're interested in sustainable living and building in Costa Rica. The PVS site has a lot of valuable information on eco-living, including Costa Rica suppliers of sustainable construction technologies.

Costa Rica sustainable community Check out Solar Vistas - the first Costa Rica eco-community in the Malpais/Santa Teresa/Montezuma area! I'm extremely excited by our new development, combining the best of permaculture, green building, and sustainable living concepts to make this amazing place the first of its type in the country. I have two partners for this, and we're currently selling seven lots to the first two buyers who want to join the community. After that, we plan to build our eco-houses for the other lots. If you're interested in Solar Vistas, or just want to find out how you can build your own tropical eco-house, check out the Solar Vistas website, which has a ton of information about tropical green building, as well as links to the many suppliers around Costa Rica who can help you to help build a more sustainable world.

Montezuma Real Estate - ocean view property FOR SALE $375,000! - Ocean View - 5800 m2 (almost 1 1/2 acres)

This is one of the best properties in the Montezuma Area, and it's for sale! Not only does it have amazing ocean views where you can see and hear the waves breaking on the rocks below, but it's right next to famous Montezuma Falls, with a private path down to the top pool (a 6-min walk). You can actually hear the falls from the lot! The property borders a public road so its suitable for a small hotel or B&B. It's at the end of a long driveway, so it's very private, and is surrounded by the canopy tour's nature preserve. I live right above this lot and I can tell you that we have tons of animals here. Plus you can often see the whales splashing around right in front. I have two other small properties bordering this one that are available for an additional $175K. Together these three propeties would be the best location in Montezuma for a high end eco resort, with space for 6-7 cabinas. Email me for more details.

Malpais Real Estate - ocean view lot CHEAP! FOR SALE $195,000! - Ocean and Valley Views - 1.8 Hectares (4.5 acres)! (Only $10.80/m2)

I also have a property for sale in the hills behind Santa Teresa. It's a great deal, at $195,000 for 1.8 hectares, with ocean views and spectacular valley views, several building sites, a stream with ancient trees, mango trees, and a 10-12 minute drive to the beaches of either Playa Hermosa and Santa Teresa. To my knowledge, it's the cheapest ocean view lot in the Malpais/Santa Teresa area, by "per m2" price. If you're wanting something a bit quieter than down in town, and are willing to drive 10 minutes to the beach, then it's a great deal. It's cheap because the building sites are fairly small, you will have to dig your own well (ask me for a list of drillers) and electricity is not on the property yet (but it's only about 300 meters away.) Email me for more details.
