Agua Vista – Private Rental Bungalows

Agua Vista Bungalows - Photo by Jesse Rapczak

Nestled in the lush tropical Costa Rican forest, Agua Vista is a secluded complex just above the beautiful coastal town of Montezuma. Montezuma sits at the bottom of the Nicoya Peninsula, jutting spectacularly into the Pacific Ocean. The Agua Vista complex offers three houses and one bungalow, each with stunning ocean views, and all with decks on which to relax and enjoy the view.

Each house has two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, hot-water shower and a deck on which you can wile away your time watching the azure blue pacific ocean below. The bungalow has one bedroom and the same facilities as the other houses. Two of the houses, Casa Trogon and Casa Morfo have their own plunge pools, also affording a beautiful view of the ocean below.

All the properties can be rented on a nightly or weekly basis and airport pickups, maid service as well as tour and restaurant bookings can be organized before you arrive or when you settle into your accommodation.

With access to the vibrant village of Montezuma and the Montezuma river, including some magnificent waterfalls, Agua Vista provides you with a unique entry point to the hinterlands of Nicoya. The surrounding forest abounds with wildlife, from monkeys through to agoutis and colorful, exotic, parrots.

One of the best features of Agua Vista, is that it’s very close to Montezuma Falls, and you can walk to the top pools from here.

Just minutes from Agua Vista is the village of Montezuma itself. Here you can see charming, colonial style wooden houses and settle into an ambiance that is almost Caribbean in nature. Here you will also find bars and restaurants and a nightlife that is as energetic or calming as you require.

Unlike many other parts of Costa Rica, Montezuma is not overly commercialized, still retaining its laid-back lifestyle. The village is a haven and a magnet for not just alternative thinkers, but also those who in the words of the Costa Ricans themselves, love the “pura vida”.

From the beach, la Playa Grande, you can catch a boat to the beach-town of Jaco where you can laze away a balmy day, or you can book a horse-ride through the forests and then canter through the surf on the beach. For the more active, the canopy tour takes you up into the verdant forest. You move between the trees on a zip-wire and get views that you cannot see anywhere else. Or book a tour out to Tortuga island where you will be amazed at the marine life on display.

Whatever you require from your holiday, Agua Vista, can provide it for you.
