Travel

There are really a lot of different ways to get here, but the most common way is probably to rent a car and drive from the San Jose airport. Another popular way is to take one of the private shuttle vans, which will bring you here from either San Jose or the Liberia Airport.

If you fly, there are two airlines (Sansa and Nature Air) which land in the Tambor aiport, which is about 25 minutes from Montezuma or 35 minutes from Santa Teresa, depending on how fast you drive. This is a very small airport and you’ll feel like you’re in a movie landing on a tiny airstrip in the jungle… very exciting.

You can get here by public bus or even hire a taxi to drive you all the way here from one of the international airports.

The water taxi from Jaco is also very popular. You may see whales or dolphins on the way, but it can be bumpy and you can get sunburned.

A few people come by private plane or even by helicopter! If you have a group of 4 or more people, you might find it thrilling to fly right in directly to the Tambor airport.

Clandestina Restaurant

The Oregon/Tico collaboration is a winner among locals and travelers alike, with artisan craft beers, made onsite by Butterfly Brewing Co. and delicious, exciting […]
