In Montezuma you’ll find dance retreats, dance classes, a bar with dancing every night, and street dancing!

Places to Dance in Montezuma

Chico’s Bar – in the center of town is the infamous Chico’s bar, which generally has someone dancing every night. Depending on the night, the place can be anything from empty to raging, spillig out onto the street. For big holidays such as Halloween or New Years, somehow thousands of people will be here, blocking the streets and feeling like Mardi Gras.

Dance Retreats

Anamaya: Zumba Retreats happen from time to time at Anamaya.

Ireni Stamou Yoga and Dance Retreats: Professional dance instructor Ireni Stamou offers yoga and dance retreats at Ylang Ylang.

La Escuela del Sol Firedancing Workshops: Offers a variety of fire dancing week-long workshops every year, led by the world’s best instructors such as Nick Woolsey or Srikanta Barefoot.

Dance Classes

Studio los Almendros – Just off the beach, about halfway between Montezuma and Cabuya, is Estudio los Almendros, owned by dance teacher Ninoska. She sometimes has special dance classes, training, and events at her beautiful studio.

Fire Poi Classes at La Escuela del Sol – Poi classes are offered in the middle of town at La Escuela del Sol nearly every week all year.

Latin Dance Classes – Held at Hotel Ylang Ylang from time to time with instructor Syska Lacono. Includes Salsa, Rumba, Cha Cha & Merengue. Private lessons are available upon request.
