The Olingo team are perhaps the best guides in the area. Professionally certified in Costa Rica, they work with many of the best hotels and retreat centers to provide surf instruction, horseback riding, birdwatching, guided sea kayak tours, etc.
Note: This is the “high end” of nature tours, and it’s relatively expensive compared to self-guided activites. Of course you can just wander about and look at birds for free, but with Olingo you’ll be accompanied by an Ornithologist guide who is an expert, so you’ll get much more out of the trip. Certified nature guides also are trained to know the names and habits of the wildlife you may see while exploring the jungles and oceans. Plus the Olingo guys are simply great people… all Costa Ricans who speak great English and are completely passionate about their work, nature, and Costa Rica.

Birdwatching – 6-9am or 3-5pm in various “hot spots” for birdwatching.
Canopy Tour – Malpais or Montezuma guided canopy adventure tour.
Horseback Riding – Eco tour by horseback at a private beachfront 5000 acre property named Hacienda Ario. Really great!
Sea Kayaking – Guided two-mile sea kayak adventure to remote beaches (double kayaks) at Curu Wildlife Refuge.
Snorkeling Tortuga Island – Includes transport to the Island (and back) etc
Surfing – All inclusive surfing lessons from certified instructors in Santa Teresa
Waterfall Hike – Journey to Montezuma Falls
Wildlife Observation – Wild animal search and observation tour at either Cabo Blanco or Curú Park.
